We explore anything that sparks your curiosity — from nature and wellness to history and adventure — making the journey to fluency as rewarding as the destination.

My Story
I was born and raised in Lisbon, with roots in Alentejo — the land of incredible olive oil and wine. European Portuguese is my mother tongue, and my journey into language learning started early with English. As a kid, I spent endless afternoons after school, translating British and American song lyrics, and singing along on repeat until they stuck. Without realizing it, I was teaching myself English through immersion and input.
My curious mindset led me on a ten-plus-year adventure across Europe. I studied in the Netherlands, completed a Master's in Scotland (where the Glaswegian accent felt like a "cold plunge" — shocking at first, but incredibly invigorating!), and lived in England, Belgium, and Switzerland. It was in Switzerland that I fell in love with the mountains — and with the guy I eventually convinced to move to Portugal with me.
In 2025, I followed the call of the wild back home. Today, I live in a rural corner of Portugal, where I've traded city life for bird watching, terrace building, and olive harvests. Living abroad helped me to appreciate the beauty of my own language, and now, I'm rediscovering my country from a completely new perspective.
Teaching Approach
I know exactly what it's like to juggle a career, relationships and hobbies while trying to integrate into a new country and learn a new language. It can be very rewarding but also a real challenge. When I began learning German, I discovered the power of Comprehensible Input (CI). But when I looked for similar resources for my boyfriend to learn European Portuguese, I hit a wall. While Brazilian Portuguese resources were everywhere, I saw a big gap in engaging materials offering comprehensible input in European Portuguese, especially for beginners.
Let's be honest: finding content that holds your attention as an adult learning a new language is hard. You want to start by understanding the basics, but you can only watch so many episodes of Peppa Pig before your brain checks out. No shade to Peppa — she's cool, but we've got bigger topics to discuss, and certainly higher mountains to climb.
From 3D modeling to teaching and filmmaking
I specialized in medical visualisation and worked as a 3D modeler in the medical field for years, but I always felt the pull to start a project of my own. Portuguese Tune originated from my love for languages, communication, writing, and filmmaking. What I offer you in European Portuguese is exactly what I was searching for in my own language-learning adventure with German:
